Interactive Toys
Its Time to Stop Feeding Your Dog in a Bowl
Why use interactive toys and bones with your dog? Interactive toys help keep your dog busy and mentally stimulated, which means they are less likely to perform other inappropriate or destructive behaviors like chewing on the furniture or walls, digging, grabbing inappropriate objects, and counter surfing. Just putting your dogs' food in a bowl provides no mental stimulation or exercise. Most dogs finish eating quickly and receive very little enrichment.
Dogs are natural scavengers, so it is in their DNA to want to hunt, search, and work for their food. We believe the best way to feed your dog each day is through training. This allows you to reinforce and train appropriate behaviors while you feed your dog their daily meals. Measure out how much food your dog eats each day. Put that food in a baggie or in several containers around the house. When your dog is being good feed them some of their kibble. Whatever food is left can be put into some kind of interactive toy.

Feeding your dog in an interactive toy is extremely easy and should not take you any more time than filling a standard food bowl. It is important not to make the interactive toy too difficult for your dog or they could give up. The food toy or puzzle should be enjoyable for your dog. As they become more skilled you can find more difficult toys and puzzles for your dog to enjoy.
