Hello, Fellow Dog Lovers!
What a busy year it has been at Ready Set…Train! We had several exciting projects come to fruition including, launching a newsletter, introduced new group classes, we started offering dog walking services, welcomed a new trainer and some fantastic volunteers, started a blog and even created a YouTube channel—all alongside our regular private training sessions.
We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our wonderful customers. It’s a privilege to partner with you in training and caring for your dogs. Your support makes it possible for us to do what we love.
As we approach 2025, we’re excited to celebrate five incredible years since Ready, Set…Train! came to life. We look forward to continuing our growth and providing top-notch training for many more years to come. We hope to share some exciting new projects for 2025 soon! Thank you to our amazing community of dog-loving humans! We truly wouldn’t be here without your love and support.
Dog of the Month: Heidi
Name: Heidi or “Heidi Juniper X-Wing Good Dog Nightcrawler” (full legal name)
Age: 3 in February
Breed: German Shepherd
Favorite activity: Swimming with her friends at the pond
Favorite food/snack: Freeze dried beef liver
Best personality trait: You can go from being a very scary stranger to her absolute favorite person if you are willing to let her get to know you on her own terms (especially if you throw her ball for her).
Fun fact about Heidi: According to Heidi’s mom she was born to fight crime but is also really bad at knowing what is and isn’t a crime. She was the runt of her litter. Heidi learned to press different talking buttons to tell her mom she wants things, instead of barking (thank goodness). Heidi wants nothing to do with peanut butter.
Heidi is one of our long term training clients. Her mom, Ashley, is now one of our certified trainers, and it’s truly inspiring to see how far they've come together. In fact, Heidi was one of the key reasons Ashley decided to pursue a career in dog training and earn her certification.
When we first started working with Heidi, she was struggling with guarding and reactivity issues both at home and on walks. Over the past 2 years, we've seen remarkable progress in Heidi's behavior and her ability to handle stressful situations. She’s now able to trust and comfortably welcome some guests into her home, has participated in group training classes, and has made many new friends—both human and canine.
Heidi's parents, Ashley and Joel, work with her daily, and we continue to be amazed by their dedication to her training and well-being. Their commitment has played a huge role in Heidi's success, and we're proud to have been part of her training journey.
